1965 Malibu SS

This car was brought to me by a customer from Houston. He had recently bought it on eBay and the car had several issues that needed to be repaired. He had been told about some of the rust problems, but not all of them. The trunk and interior floors were full of holes and in bad shape. As seen in the photos, the front floor had been previously repaired by riveting a piece of metal over the exsisting floor.

The customer had been searching for a 4 speed car and when a suitable car could not be located, he located all the neccesary parts to convert it into one. The motor smoked a little also but after doing a compression check it was determined that the valve stem seals were the culprits. The motor and A/T trans were pulled, the motor taken apart enought to replace the seals and install a new camshaft and timing chain (it has to have a a rumpety-rump idle doesn't it?). Cleaned up, painted and a polished intake and it looks great! The motor and 4 speed were put back in the car after the floors were finished and off to the paint shop it went.

As soon as the car is back, we will update the A/C system by converting it to R134A and replace the POA valve and making a cycling clutch system out of it.

The next stage will be updating the brakes to power disc. The parts are here and we are just waiting on the body shop to complete the paint work.
