General Safety Rules:

All racers and their cars must adhere to NHRA/IHRA safety rules. Some of these safety rules are;

  • Aftermarket rear axles: 10.99 and quicker. All cars with a spool.
  • Auto trans flex plate and flywheel shield: 9.99 and quicker.
  • Auto trans reverse lockout: Required on ALL vehicles.
  • Bellhousing/scattershield: 11.99 and quicker
  • Driver restraint system: SFI 16.1 driver-restraint system will be mandatory on any vehicle running 11.49 or quicker and for convertibles running 13.49 or quicker. Seat belts are required for all cars.
  • Driveshaft loop: Required on all cars running 13.99 or quicker and utilizing slicks, except vehicles equipped with street tires running 11.49 or slower.
  • Flywheel/clutch: 11.49 and quicker.
  • Harmonic balancer: 10.99 and quicker.
  • Helmet: 13.99 and quicker.
  • Liquid overflow: Required on ALL vehicles.
  • Mechanical master cutoff switch: 9.99 and quicker or over 135 mph.
  • Neck collar: 9.99 and quicker.
  • NHRA Competition License: 9.99 and quicker.
  • NHRA Chassis Sticker: 9.99 and quicker.
  • Padding - roll bar/cage: 13.49 and quicker or over 135 mph
  • Parachute: 9.99 and quicker or over 150 mph
  • Pressurized bottle DOT approved: Required on ALL vehicles.
  • Protective clothing: 9.99 and quicker, full coverage. 10.0-11.49 SFI 3.2A/1 jacket .(note: nylon or nylon type clothing and open toe shoes prohibited)
  • Roll bar: 11.49 and quicker. Convertibles, 13.49 and quicker.
  • Tail light: Required on ALL vehicles.
  • Window net: 9.99 and quicker.
  • Long pants and shirts with sleeves are required for all racers. i.e. no shorts or tank tops.
  • Battery tie downs are required for all cars.
  • Convertibles must run with top up for any car with an ET of 12.99 or faster.

    Cars cannot outrun their required safety equipment. If a track official is notified that a car’s speed or ET has exceeded its required safety equipment, i.e. roll bar, fire jacket, helmet, etc., during time trials, that car may be disqualified.

    Note: many tracks will give a driver one warning during time trials, however, the car will be disqualified if it happens during eliminations.

    Vehicles are subject to tech inspection at any time.

    No "stripe takers" permitted.


    Class Rules:
    All classes are bracket style dial your own E.T. with the exception of Sportsman, NSS and NMC which are index classes. Dial in's may be changed between rounds(except in index classes). If you are going to run in multiple classes, a tech card must be purchased for each class you run in. Any car running in the electronics class must disconnect the electronics before running in a second class.

    Super Pro:
  • If a “Delay Box”, “Stutter Box”, “Two Step”, or any other electronic device is installed that car must run in the Super Pro Class. The box may be disconnected to run in any other class.
  • Shift lights and line locks are not considered electronics.
  • Vehicles which do not have electronic devices installed cannot run in the Electronics class.
  • During eliminations, no external device, such as a laptop computer, which can actually change rev limits, fuel management, or any other operating characteristic of the car can be installed or plugged in to the car’s computer unless that car runs in the Electronics Class. “Record only” devices are permitted. Laptop computers must be removed prior to run for safety reasons.


    Pro:
  • This is a footbrake class for cars running 11.99 and quicker, dial your own.
  • Shift lights and line locks are not considered electronics.
  • Digital ignition boxes capable of two step RPM control may be used in non-electronic classes if the 2 step wiring is clearly disconnected.


    ET Eliminator:
  • This is a footbrake class for cars running 12.00 and slower, dial your own.
  • Shift lights and line locks are not considered electronics.
  • Digital ignition boxes capable of two step RPM control may be used in non-electronic classes if the 2 step wiring is clearly disconnected.


    Sportsman:
  • This is a footbrake class, dial your own.
  • DOT tires only (no slicks)
  • Shift lights and line locks are not considered electronics.
  • Digital ignition boxes capable of two step RPM control may be used in non-electronic classes if the 2 step wiring is clearly disconnected.


    LX:
  • This is a footbrake class, dial your own.
  • Shift lights and line locks are not considered electronics.
  • Digital ignition boxes capable of two step RPM control may be used in non-electronic classes if the 2 step wiring is clearly disconnected.


    NSS / NMC:
  • These are footbrake index classes that utilize the rules set forth by the NMCA and the Texas Outsiders.
    Some allowances will be made for vehicles at this race only for tire size and carburetors. All other rules will be adhered to. This is to allow cars that have the period correct appearance to run in these classes.
    No spoilers, snorkle hood scoops or aero hood scoops allowed. The classes will allow all makes and models to run at this event.
